Halloween was chilly, but not freezing cold. The kids could just wear costumes without coats. We started pretty early too and only stayed out for about an hour. I don't think they would have lasted much longer--hands were starting to get cold! We went with our neighbors and old neighbors. The kids had fun running around getting treats. This was Leela's first experience and she LOVED it! She literally ran almost the entire time. Now, if she would have just worn her costume, she would have been totally set for the night! She was supposed to be Cookie Monster, but refused to put on the costume. Good thing we were borrowing from a neighbor and it wasn't something I went out and bought! I ended up making her into a K-State cheerleader, but she wouldn't put on the cute tutu skirt, so she just had on her sweatsuit. Little stinker. Oh well. What can you do? Kai was Leonardo from Ninja Turtles and was SUPER excited to wear his costume as much as possible. Grayson was dressed up as The Doctor from Doctor Who, like his party. He looked so cute.
We had Leela's birthday party the following weekend. The birthday girl was certainly not in her best mood that day. I could barely get her cute party dress on! She does get a break though because her molar was popping through and she has taken a very short nap before the party. She warmed up a little towards the end of the party. I think everyone else had a good time though!
We continue to stay very busy around here. We are in the process of moving the kids around to new rooms. Kai and Grayson will be together and we put their new beds together over Thanksgiving break. They LOVE being roommates. We aren't totally done with decorating and getting things organized, but Kai is sleeping in there now. Next up is Leela's new room, which was Kai's old room. Once those three are all moved in an settled, I can start working on the nursery. I'm redecorating it with a cute "farm theme". Can't wait to see it all together.
I'm in party planning mode right now with Kai's winter school party, Grayson's birthday party (we are doing it early since it's so close to my due date!) and a baby shower for a best friend. You know I love this kind of stuff, but it's hard to find time to work on these things. I forget how busy the holiday season gets! Grayson wants to have a Doctor Who themed party again. At first, I was fighting it. Then, I realized I was being crazy...if he wants to do it again, great! Less prep work for decorations! Yay! Just trying to come up with different foods and activities this time around. At least we know what he'll wear. :)
That's about all for now. Gotta keep moving! Only 10 weeks until Amelia arrives......this is CRAZY! Enjoy the pics!
