We found out end of September that we're going to have another little girl addition to the family. I really thought the tech was going to say boy, but she surprised me! I think we are most excited for Leela to have another girl playmate. She could use someone on her "side". :) I can't wait to have more bows and girly clothes around here too! The boys were pretty excited, although, they were rooting for boy. Kai did say that girl was what was needed to fit the pattern of kid in our family though so he was ok with a girl. :) Things look good and due date is at February 11th.
This weather has been crazy...first it's cold, then it's hot, then it's cool, then it warms up. I'm not complaining, but it's really hard to fit winter and summer clothes in a dresser at once...I'm ready to pack one up so we can actually see what clothes we have. The kids are loving playing outside and not having to wear so many layers yet...won't be too long, I'm sure. Grayson keeps asking when it's going to snow. Not quite ready for that yet!
I've been participating in a weekly Bible study. Grayson has his own class and is loving it and Leela is finally getting adjusted to the nursery. She cried the whole time the first few weeks, but now she just sheds a few tears at drop off and then she's a happy camper when I get her. I knew she could do it! :) There's a baby in there that has a paci so she's a bit obsessed with her and helping the teachers take care of baby Penny. They must also keep giving her snacks to keep her happy because she never wants lunch when we get home! Hey, whatever it takes! :)
Kai's been in an instructional baseball league this fall. He only has a two weeks left and they have "games" against each other. The group ranges from 4-6 year olds so you get all ability and maturity levels. It's been fun to watch. I think he's enjoying himself and is looking forward to playing on a team in the spring.
We had parent teacher conferences this week and were VERY pleased with Kai. He's doing so well in all academic areas and we couldn't be more proud. He is just such a little sponge and just loves to learn. I've really been impressed with what he's coming home and telling me about! He is very into finding sight words that he knows and retelling the story in his own words. He's on the right track to reading and making this teacher mom happy! :) I've been working hard planning his class Halloween party with the other room parent. Hard to believe that's only 2 weeks away!
Leela's birthday is coming up too! We are having a garden tea party theme. I've been putting together ideas for that, but need to start putting my ideas to work now! I can't believe she's going to be two. How did that happen? She's got quite the personality and always up for a chat. Still has Daddy wrapped around her finger. Don't think that's going to change any time soon. :)
Derek's been having a lot of shoulder pain over the last few months. He just had an MRI this week and they found a cyst on his labrum. I guess when there is a cyst that usually means that it is torn. He has to wait to hear from the orthopedic surgeon and see what's next-usually rehab and/or surgery. Yay. Recovery can be a bit long so depending on what the doctor says will also depend on what we do and when with baby coming in February. :)
That's about all for now. Enjoy the pics.
