The Brown's Buzz: June 2013

Well, what's your guess???? This baby was moving ALL over when we were at the sonographer. It was fun to see so much movement! Both Kai and Grayson weren't this active when we had our 20 week sono. Well.......this active baby is a GIRL!!!!!! We are all so excited! Bring on the pink! :) Yay!

Everything looked good with her development and the doctor was pleased so we are relieved! She's currently 11 ounces. Her heartbeat was 152. On average, they reach a pound around 22 weeks (I'm 20) and their heartbeat is anywhere between 120-180. During second trimester heartbeat varies a lot, even within a few minutes.

Kai wasn't quite sure about a sister at first, but once Derek told him all the different girl superheroes she could pretend to be, he was ok with it. :) I said I would be teaching this one different things to play with--I need someone on my side! :)

Well, clearly summer has gotten the best of me...last post hasn't been since April????? Oh my! Sorry! We've been having lots of fun around here!

Both the boys are doing well. Grayson continues to get more teeth. He's not too bad when he's awake, but it really messes with him when he sleeps at night. He has a hard time sleeping once it gets to be three or four in the morning. He finally slept till his normal time today so I'm hoping we're going to catch a break for a while. Momma wants to sleep too! :) He's been saying a few more words too so it's been fun to listen to him. He's becoming quite the daredevil these days.....climbing anything and everything! Oven door, tables, barstool....gotta keep a close eye on him! Nothing scares him! (Except the vacuum cleaner! Haha!)

Kai's doing well too. We've starting potty training. I'm still trying not to force it on him yet, hoping he'll just run with it. He's actually been doing really well. We've been focusing on just the morning time and he's been making it until lunch with few accidents. Still a little resistance, but it's a good start. Once we master the morning, we'll move to afternoon/evening. I don't even want to think about nap and bedtime. We'll deal with that later. :) We're proud of him. Grayson is his biggest cheerleader. Every time the timer goes off, he runs to the bathroom door waiting for Kai to come! We're starting to not need the timer so I don't know what Grayson will do once it's completely gone! :)

We've had lots of fun playing outside with our neighbor friends and going to parks. Kai's been attending his summer "library class" in the park. You bring a blanket and listen to stories and songs. Last week is got rained out halfway though so hopefully this week we can do the whole time. Both the boys are doing the summer reading program and Kai really enjoys showing them his folder and getting his weekly sticker. :) Grayson just likes reading the books. :)

We went to the Sea Life museum down by Crown Center last week. The boys really enjoyed looking at the fish. They had lots of fun! We visited the Curious George Museum at Crown Center after we were done and even managed to catch Nana on her lunch break!

I've been busy working on getting ready for Kai's party and the mini Bible school for the younger kids at church. It's a lot of work! It actually wouldn't be that much, but with little ones, it's hard to time find to get it done! :) It's been fun planning and organizing things. Too bad my brain won't shut off with these topics...it tends to interfere with sleep! :) We're excited for both events!

We find out if the baby's a boy or girl this Friday. We can't wait. Kai would like a boy for himself. He said I can have a girl for Grayson and myself. Haha. I feel like it's a boy, but there's a small part of me saying it's a girl. Guess we shall see! I'll keep you posted! Thanks for reading!
