Winter Break

So I thought I would have all this extra time during my break, but here it is Thursday night and I still have a long list of things to get done. Where did the week go? Actually, it's been a fun week visiting family and friends, so I can't complain. :) Just wish time would slow down a bit. We had MANY Christmas celebrations the past few weeks and I think the boys are all "present-ed" out! Well, maybe just Grayson. By the time we had our family of four Christmas, he didn't even attempt to open much-he just wanted the paper! Sometimes, he didn't even want that! The boys have had fun playing with some of their new toys. Kai thinks that they are all for him so he has to be reminded that some were given to Grayson and he needs to share...such a rough life! :)

I think Kai may have been going through a growth spurt. He was sleeping more than usual--taking longer naps and sleeping in later. I noticed when I put a few of his pants and pajamas that they were shorter or didn't fit. Now maybe we won't have to roll all his pants anymore! :) He had his 2 1/2 year appointment and the doctor was pleased. He weighs 31 pounds (65th percentile) and is 37 1/2 inches tall (83rd percentile).

Grayson's been eating up everything in sight. He's not really into being fed anymore so we are moving towards all finger foods. He's doing a nice job--I just forgot how messy they get!!!! I've started to put some formula in his bottle at night to see if that helps him sleep longer at night and it's made a little difference...still trying to figure him out! He's been all over the place--wakes up at 5:30, 5:45, 6:30 or even 7:00! I'm trying to make him cry it out more...doesn't always work. He's started waking up and standing in his crib so he can't calm himself down...he just stands there crying! Haha...it's kinda cute as long as it's after 5:30 am. :) Speaking of standing, that kid is pulling up on everything!!! He's been using his walker toy and "walking" all around with it--he's getting better and better. I think he might walk before he's one! However, I feel like I thought that about Kai too though and it didn't happen until after his 1st birthday so we'll see! I was able to "squeeze" him into the Santa suit that Kai wore as a baby so I've added a pic of him--he's just a chunky Santa! :)

Thanks for reading and enjoy the pics!

Happy Holidays!

Happy Holidays! It's hard to believe that Thanksgiving came and went and now it's time to think about Christmas! We've been busy putting up holiday decorations and the kids have enjoyed looking at them all. Some have been better at keeping hands off than others....those ornaments all over the tree are just so tempting to a certain 2 year old.....I put a gate around it to keep the babies away, but it's actually doing more good for Kai! :) The boys have started a sports themed ornament collection and have a special tree for their room. This year it's in Kai's room and he LOVES it. Every time we go in there, he runs over and names all the ornaments on there...the whole 7 or 8 on there-haha! It'll be full one of these years....he had to borrow a few from Mom and Dad so the tree didn't look so sad. Kai's been fighting another cold so we're ready for that to be over and get at least one child sleeping through the night again....as with our other guy.....Grayson had his 9 month appointment last week. Apparently, I'm starving the child! He had barely gained a pound since his 6 month appointment. Oopps! Guess I need to up the solids and snacks!!!! He was in the 33rd percentile for weight. Guess who wasn't too happy about that? As soon as they walked in the door, Derek had a new "meal plan" all lined up for him. Haha. Someone doesn't want his future football players too skinny!!! Grayson seems to be happy about more food, but I haven't noticed a difference with sleeping through the night yet because he's teething again. It looks like he's getting his other top front tooth and another top tooth next to it. Yay..the more the merrier! Let's get this process over with!
Well, I better stop. Grayson's already woken up twice since he went to bed...might be a long night for me.....and him! Thank goodness for Tylenol!!!! Thanks for reading!
Thanksgiving...this bib was given to Kai by my cousin Stephie when he was a baby!!! I found it when I was cleaning out a drawer in Grayson's room! Just in time!

Cheese! Well, it looks a little painful....haha!

Grayson with his cousin Mason...how cute are they!?!?!?

Hey!

Sports tree! (Kai decorated it himself...make note the K-State ornament is on the top and I didn't even tell him to do that!)
