We had Kai's two month appointment this week....he's doing AWESOME! He now weighs 13 pounds 4 ounces (73 percentile), 23.8 inches long (70 percentile) and his head circumference is 16 inches (67 percentile). Kai had to get four shots today and an oral dose of something else--it all confuses me when they rattle off all these names like I know what they all are or something! He cried while they were giving him the shots but then he was fine after that--what a tough guy!!! We're so proud of him! :) I think it was harder for me to watch him get them and get so worked up than for him to get them...he's been sleeping ever since his appointment was over..poor little lamb, it just wore him out! :( His doctor is really impressed with his "tummy time" progress lifting his head, how well he can stand and "balance" his weight and his weight gain. We were worried about his lack of sleep, but she said that as long as he's growing, he will be fine. We really can't complain about sleep at night....he usually goes to be around 8:00 and sleeps until 2:00. Then he goes back down until 6:00. He's been acting a little fussy recently when we've tried giving him a bottle in the morning.....we're trying to get him used to his new schedule when I go back to work on Sept 15th. Hopefully things go a little better with that! Derek and I talk all the time about how lucky we are to have such a good little baby---he rarely fusses!!!
We've been really busy this week.....we went up to school for a team birthday lunch for "Auntie Hergert" (Mommy just can't stay away from work!) and then Mommy's former student Rylee, came over to play that night! Check out the pictures of us! Kai just kept staring and staring at her....so cute! He loves his new girlfriend!
Grandma and Grandpa Warta are coming over to see him tonight--it's been a week and a half since they've seen Kai and Grandpa's just dying to see his grandson. Kai has missed his Grandpa and Grandma too. :) On Thursday, one of Mommy's former parents is coming over to meet Kai and then that night we are going to visit Emily Webster, Mommy's best friend Laura's sister. They moved into a new house this spring and we're going to see their house and Kai hasn't met her yet! He just loves our adventures! Think that's all our excitement....thanks for reading this week!
