Kai has started his baseball league. He has weekly practices, which are at school, and then weekly games starting in May. There are several boys from his school on the team. Kai is so excited and has been saying all winter that he wants his team to be the Royals. We've been trying to prepare him that he might not be on that team. Somehow, he's on the Royals. The kids didn't get to pick a name, so I don't know if the coaches were assigned team names, or what but either way, yay! :) Derek is helping assist the coach and has already come home with several "stories". Should be a fun time to watch the cute little kindergartners play baseball this spring and summer!
Grayson has been on meds to help with his night cough and it's been working! It's so nice to not "half sleep" through the night trying to listen for his coughing. I know he's getting better sleep at night too. He continues to surprise us. He's into learning and doing "school work" like Kai now. THANK GOODNESS! Making this teacher mama happy! He's still working on writing his name, but he's doing much better recalling things that we tried to work on at the beginning of the school year. I think he just wasn't ready yet. :) We'll try to keep going this summer so he's all ready for preschool in the fall. How is that possible??!?!?!?!?
Leela continues to be the wild card child. You never know what you're gonna get each day! :) Some of her favorite things to do right now....pull out ALL of her clothes from her dresser and put them in a nice pile in her room, take off her sleep sack and pajamas before she falls asleep at night and sleep with 500 loveys in her bed for naps and nighttime. She is a chatterbox and will talk to ANYONE on the phone. Go ahead and call...you won't get a word in! :) It's so fun listening to her and be able to understand a lot of what she is saying. She's also become a little obsessed with Grayson's red fez hat from Doctor Who and wears it around ALL the time! She still loves the role of big sister and always needs to know where Amelia is.
Amelia will be two months on Friday!!!! Will be curious to see how much she weighs since she had gained so much by the first month. This appointment isn't a fun one...she has to get four shots. :( I know things are going to probably change, but she's doing great with sleep at night. She's been eating around 8:00 or 9:00 at night and then usually sleeping until 3:00 or 4:00 in the morning. I think it would be fabulous if she kept this up! :) Time will tell! She's been a pretty easy baby as long as she's fed, changed and swaddled on a regular basis! ;)
We are planning to change things up in the Brown household once again. Derek is pursuing other job opportunities. I have re-applied to Olathe School District for next year and am hoping to hear some things by May. Derek is looking at full time options right now and if nothing works out for us and something does for me, he will go part time around my work schedule. This process certainly takes some patience and will see what God has in store for us. We've been taking things one year at a time and we are so thankful that things have worked out, but it's time to make some changes. We will keep you posted!
That's about all around here. Thanks for reading and enjoy the pics!
