Game over!!!!

Well, Miss Princess finally figured out how to climb up on the chair and couch. I knew it was coming, but just kept hoping she would stop trying. Nope. She figured it out last week. Now this is ALL she wants to do so Mommy and Daddy are pretty busy these days. Not only was the top of the chair a holding place for folded laundry or toys from the boys that we didn't want Leela to get a hold of, but now I can't take my eyes off her for a second. Literally. She's up there before I can blink! Game over. Just a phase, right????? :)

On the positive side, Leela is doing a little better with sleep again, but it's been another journey with her! We tried to wean her off acid reflux meds again since it had been several months, but that was not a good move. She was up again every 45 minutes to an hour all night long. :( Between teething and getting sick, this was a fun time. She even went a week long without eating. I'm talking maybe 3/4 a sippy cup of milk and maybe 4 or 5 bites of food for every meal. Not sure if this was because it hurt to eat, or because she was sick or teething, or all three. I think this also affected why she got up so much at night. We finally got her to start eating again, but she wouldn't sit in her high chair. Derek or I had to hold her while she ate. :) Can we say princess????? Now that meds are back in full swing, she will eat in her high chair again and is actually eating meals. Phew. She's also been sleeping better. She slept through the night once last week (Wuhoo!!!!) and the rest of the nights she's woken up around 3 or 4 and then slept until 6ish. I will take that any day. :) Naps are better too. Now if those last four teeth would just come in......maybe we can start to sleep better more often than not???? :)

We had Kai's Parent/Teacher Conference last week. His teacher said he's doing great! He recognizes all letters, can say all letter sounds (except x and y--those are tricky in his defense!!!!), count up to 30, knows shapes, colors, days of the week, some months of the year...I could go on and on, but I'll stop bragging. :) We are so proud of him. She thinks he will be ready for Kindergarten next year too! Our concern (well, really just mine!) was staying on task and completing work. She said he needs reminders to keep working, but not to worry about it. He just needs to know what everyone else around him is doing....hmmmm....wonder where he gets this from???? He also sometimes struggles with change in routine. Once it happens, he's fine, but his teacher said he's the first one to point out if something is not as planned or on schedule. Hmmmm.....again, where does he get that from? :) At least I know he's mine. We are two peas in a pod. Love him.

We enrolled Grayson in Mini Me t-ball this spring. It will be like the organized sports that Kai did. An adult will go with him and help him learn the new drills or activities each time. I think Grayson will like it. He seems excited, but it's still so far off! Doesn't start until May! He's started working on potty training. He's doing well with it so we will just keep going at his pace. I haven't really started to get super serious with it, so I think that's out next step. He keeps talking about wearing his new Toy Story underwear so I think I can push it a little more. We are getting ready for his Doctor Who birthday party in a few weeks. He's so excited!!! Too bad no one will really know what it is. :) He won't care though!!! That's all he talks about! :)

The kids are almost all back to being healthy. I would say we are at 90%. Kai and Leela still have a little cough and runny nose left. This winter has been the craziest for us. We have literally had one week since before Thanksgiving with a healthy household. I'm hoping that will happen again for a while now. We could use a break from Kleenex. I think they have a permanent red marks under their nose from all the wiping! :) Spring couldn't come fast enough!!!!! With all the "togetherness" that we've had lately, we've had LOTS of fun with pretend play. Auntie Hergert passed along a great website with lots of printables so we've been playing restaurant, grocery store, vet, post office, doctor and ice cream shop. Not sure who's having more fun...me or the kids! :)

Thanks for reading!! Enjoy the pics!

Chillin' in the apple box....

Kai decided to organize the games one day....notice how he's sitting in the storage box and is giving things to Grayson and bossing him around, telling him where to put things. I know this must have been what I did to Kyle...cracks me up to see this all go down! :)

We asked Nana to make a mailman bag for our mailbox and letters. We love to pretend play post office!!!

They were both so cute...I couldn't decide between the two. :)
